Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge
Join us in preserving our nature, wildlife and history.
Who are we?
The Friends of Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge is a group of hardworking, hands on, steadfast volunteers who share a passion and support for the refuge. Our support takes many forms and is always expanding. So far we:
- Fund nature and cultural history education for thousands of children and workshops for their teachers, creating new stewards for the refuge.
- Restore habitat through tree plantings and invasive removal.
- Provide special events for visitors to the refuge and the plankhouse.
Why Join the Friends of RNWR?
When you join the Friends you become one of nature’s heroes. You can feel good about being part of the solution in your own community. A very small fraction of your donated dollar goes toward administrative costs. The Friends group is made up of volunteers and donors who are interested in leaving a part of their world, their children’s and their grandchildren’s world a better place.Join us. Be a friend to those creatures great and small who need refuge.
